I think Everyone around the World was hoping for a great 2020…..But that was not to be….For Me , it Started off really well. Headed back To Thailand to be with friends and  My Partner NATEE. We were planning to do a lot of things in the two months that I was going to be in Thailand , including visiting his Mum and Family, Natee wanted to show me off……

Left Airlie on the 14th January, headed to Brisbane , then onto Singapore than Bangkok, then finally Pattaya. It was a very long day.

After Finally getting into my Condo, I start Unpacking, And that’s when it all went to SHIT……

I had a major Fall, Smashed the Bedside Table and Lamp, plus did some major damage to my Back…..

I won’t go into it, but made life a little difficult for the fist week, Thanks to Natee  and the help of my friends, I got back on track. Walking was hard, but I managed to get around. Swimming and just  having a massage every 2nd day really Helped.

Plus the big thing that was going on was the COVID19 show, being in Thailand was good , mainly because the Asian Countries seemed to know more about what was going on , than the Western Counties. They Started to put into place, Mask Wearing, Temp checks etc by the end of January….

I wasn’t that worried about it all. We were not in an Area of a lot of Chinese, But by February, The Chinese started to disappear from around Pattaya.

The Holiday cont. on….My good friends made sure we all stayed together and away from all the COVID19 Shit.

Michael, Tony, Rod, John, William, Terry and Natee just had a great time together….

Lot’s of Long Lunch's  and Long Dinners , plenty of Booze made for a great 2 months away.

I spent a lot of time with Natee, which was great for me….Love Him To Bits.

Michael went back to Australia at the Beginning of Feb, after that , Natee and I went to Chiang Mai, Mainly so he could show me off to his family. Who lived about 2 hours North of Chiang Mai in the Mountains. It was a great day.

Real Thailand living. Had a great Time in Chiang Mai, it’s a beautiful place, it would be a toss up if I would live there

or Pattaya.

Natee went back to Pattaya and Tony and Terry turned up in Chiang Mai.

The problem for me in Chiang Mai ,were  the Pollution Levels, it was so bad that I started to developed a really bad cough, which in Thailand at the time was not good. Managed to get it under control once I got back to Pattaya

to finish off my holiday. That final couple of weeks was a lot of fun, it was mainly with Natee.

In the last week the COVID19 virus was starting to get bad around the world, Thailand seemed to going well considering how many Chinese were still there. I think they had inside info myself, They had put in place,  a lot of check points at Airports.

The last couple of nights was just eating, drinking and well you Know???? I was looking forward to going  home and getting away from what was about to start happening around the world….Go back to my little cocoon in Airlie Beach.

When leaving Thailand the Airports had security on the doors, people had to where Mask’s and Temp’s where being checked, not once but 4 times before I got on the plane. Then in Singapore it was the same. But when I arrived back at Brisbane Airport, Nothing no one wearing Masks and no Temp checks.

Being in Business class makes life great when flying around the World. Easy to get in and Out of Airports.

Stayed in Brisbane for a couple of nights before heading back to Airlie. I still had this bad cough, so off to the Doctor, and wow the next few months have been interesting. Won’t bore you with the details , but after 9 months of tests and trips down to Mackay , My Health is on the improve. My back has suffered some serious damage,

but slowly working that out as well.

So this this whole COVID19 Virus has caused a lot of problems around the world. It didn’t really effect me much in Airlie, but for some it has been a total nightmare, and still will be for a while to come.

I have increased my workload with the Radio Show’s, on Island FM Whitsundays, I really enjoy doing it, To Listen to the Island FM Click on the Island FM Logo…

My plans for the rest of the year is to go see family and friends down south.  And as soon as I can travel back Overseas I will head back to Thailand and make it my base for 6 months. Then, I will most likely sell up Airlie Beach and Head down to the Gold Coast.

I am so looking forward to, I think, Like everyone else , when 2020 finishes, and are all hoping that 2021 will be a much better year, but something is telling me it won’t be, but we live in Hope.
