By  the end of 2022, I was really needing a real holiday. Unable to  travel overseas because of Covid, but finally travel restrictions were starting to open up. So some friends suggested that we all go on a cruise from Sydney to Singapore on the Holland American Westerdam cruise ship. Then all head back to Thailand, which is what we did.

Jan 1st 2023, I flew out of Airlie Beach, not to return until the end of March. Went down to Sydney for a couple of nights, before boarding the cruise ship. Caught up with some friends from Spain, John and Brian.

On the 3rd of Jan, Michael, Tony, Terry and Myself start our epic journey. The Cruise went for 19 days calling into 4 Australian Ports and 3 Indonesian ports. Most of them I had been to before. Out of all of them Darwin and Cairns were the only ones that we did anything of importance.

Unfortunately for me I got Covid 3 days out of Singapore. I wasn’t that sick, thank god, it just meant I had to take it easy in Singapore for a couple of days before heading to Bangkok.

Once we got to Bangkok, it was time to relax and get ready to head down to Pattaya. Michael and I were travelling together, Natee came up to Bangkok to meet us. After two nights in Bangkok, we headed to Pattaya. Had a lot planned to do, but some of it was put on hold due to the heavy pollution. I think most of the time we just ate and drank. Michael had to head back to Australia, so that just left me with Tony and Terry. I was checking out of my accommodation and going to head to Chiang Mai with Natee, but the pollution was so bad up there, we decided to go to Koh Samet instead. Had a great time down there. Had a beach style cabana, and just lazed around the resort area and the beaches for the 5 days we where there. On returning to Pattaya I changed accommodation. Which was great for me. I needed a change in Pattaya. Natee and I became a lot closer in that period.

On heading back to Australia, I decided to stay in Sydney for my Birthday, before heading back to Airlie, had a wonderful 3 days. On arriving back in Airlie I just seem to go back into the same old bullshit that I left and wanted to get away from. I think it was then, that I decided it was time to leave and start a new life.

I had some commitments to finish with Kerian McCarthy, the release of his Live Vinyl album plus the release of the live double CD. Which have all been done and have gone very well.

So from April to August, not a lot had happened, I continued to do my Radio program's for Gem FM, 4 Different shows a week. And admin for there Facebook page. I did decided that I would stop all those shows at the end of the year. Have had a lot of fun having lunch with some friends every week, Stefan, Frank and Polly, plus have fish and chips every Friday night with John. I think that has kept me sane over the last 5 months.

I decided that I wanted to head back to Thailand at the end of August, and seriously look at buying something there. So I went back for two months. Had a wonderful time with Natee. We got to go up to Chiang Mai this time, and catch up with his Mum and Family.

On returning to Australia , I had some shows to do with Kieran and the Band for the Music Festival. Now its getting to the end of the year. I have to renew my Passport, so I can get back to Thailand hopefully in March 2024.

So a new chapter in my life will start I hope in 2024. So stay Tuned , who knows what will happen.
